This highlights human costs of distant wars funded by U.S. taxes, raising worries over endless foreign aid draining public resources. Families question why American dollars support conflicts claiming foreign lives without clear end. The stake lies in avoiding higher taxes or cuts to domestic programs for overseas fights.
MAGA Republicans
What this likely confirms or alarms in their worldview.
They interpret this as proof Ukraine's war is a futile meat grinder wasting lives and U.S. money on non-Americans. Petro's words affirm skepticism of endless aid to a corrupt proxy, aligning with America First priorities against globalist entanglements. The view emphasizes bringing troops and funds home over foreign adventures.
Democrats
What this likely confirms or alarms in their worldview.
They frame it as a tragic but necessary stand against Russian aggression, where even foreign volunteers see the cause's value despite risks. Emphasis goes to supporting Ukraine to deter authoritarian expansion affecting global stability. This resonates with commitments to multilateral defense and human rights abroad.

The US Supreme Court is going to issue a ruling on the 14th amendment. If they claim any 3rd world foreigner can sneak over the border and push out an “American citizen” then the US Constitution is a suicide pack. Our country will become just another 3rd world shlithole.
@jonbrooks Around here it’s communist Chinese parking their wealth into SoCal real estate, mainly OC. I would imagine foreign nationals will buy up the majority. American citizens are second class citizens in their own country especially when it comes to housing.
